When potential renters come to view your building, they want to see themselves living in the space. A lot of building managers think of that as making the space as plain as possible so a wide variety of people will be able to move in and decorate it. This is true to some extent, but a lot of people would much rather live in a place that has a little bit of flair and modern design to it. They don’t even have to be expensive upgrades, but just thoughtful and well placed.

Flooring

Choose something that goes with a lot of things, but is also unique. You won’t want to bore your prospective clients with something they’ve seen at every other place they’ve looked at. Give them a reason to want to pick your place. Give them wood floors with a distressed look. It goes with a lot of decor choices, but looks fancier than your basic laminate flooring. It also holds up well to wear and tear, and only needs to be refinished periodically.

Spiral Staircases

Don’t just go for the traditional staircase. Add some flair to your space with a spiral staircase! Not only does it look cool, but it also saves floor space. Anyone who walks in will be instantly drawn to the space and the unique feel of the decor. If you can’t do a spiral staircase, consider adding some decorative touches to the stairs that you already have. Upgrade the banister and the rungs to something more modern that draws attention. Small changes can make a big difference in the whole feel of the place.

Tile The Bathroom

One plain color makes for a boring bathroom. Add some decorative tile in the shower and make it feel like a place you’d want to hang out. Bathrooms are one of the number one places that people like to see beauty when they look at a home. Putting the extra time and effort into making it look nice will really attract people to the vibe you are sending out.

Kitchen

Add a nice faucet to the kitchen sink. Put in a colorful backsplash. There are quite a few ways to brighten up a kitchen. Pick a color scheme where they can pull in color touches of their own and make it still look fabulous. Silver and stainless steel reflect colors and can brighten up a room. Or pick a light blue or yellow to bring a little bit of color to the room without being too overpowering.
