If you have been thinking about hosting an event for your residents, now is the time. Summer is in full swing, and school are about to go back into session. There are tons of ideas you can use to throw your residents a summer event right in your property. Here’s a list of a few ideas to get you started.

—    Plan a Back To School block party. Many of the kids and families might be ready for one last hurrah before they get back to the busy schedules that the school year brings.
—    Have a theme party. Leave a box out for residents to make a suggestion about what kind of theme it should be, and then you can either vote, or just pick the one you like the best. Reward the resident who’s theme gets picked with a gift card to encourage participation. You could make this a regular event if you want to keep the fun going through the year.
—    Make an outdoor movie night. Get a projector and a screen and show a family flick outside. It makes for a fun night of summer entertainment. You can even just use a white sheet taped to the side of your building as a homemade screen.
—    Have an end-of-summer tag sale. Invite residents to put out a table and publicize the event. It will give the public a chance to check out your property in a fun and new way, plus it will get you active in the community. Offer food, or contact a local food truck to see if they would like to participate.
—    Have a stargazing party. Put out telescopes and binoculars for people to sit back and watch the stars. Be sure to turn off the area lights if possible for the best viewing.
